Cardiff, the home of the UK-based Thomson Foundation, is the capital of Wales, and has all the facilities of a vibrant City including a superb shopping centre, a world-famous concert hall, theatres, cinemas, museums and sports arenas which include the Millennium Rugby stadium.
It is also an excellent centre for media training. The city has two daily newspapers – one a national newspaper of Wales – a Sunday newspaper and a host of weeklies within a 30-mile radius. It has three television stations and is second only to London as a media centre in Britain.
The Centre for Journalism Studies, part of the University of Wales, is a close neighbour. The Centre has its own Masters degree programme for journalists from overseas, and the two organisations work closely together.
