Free places offered on Intermediate Television Production course

Applications are invited for the new Intermediate Television Production distance-learning course, in association with the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and Thomson Foundation.

Participation is FREE for television journalists working for CBA member organisations.

This online course, involving at least two hours study each week over six weeks, will help prepare working television journalists for the next steps in their broadcasting career.

With stimulating modules including connecting with your audience, the changing face of 24/7 TV, and the rise of new media, participants will undertake a series of assignments leading to the award of a completion certificate, if successful.

Participants will become actively engaged with other journalists through the course chat forum.

The course will run from late July for 6 weeks and the deadline for applications July 16, 2010.

Fees for journalists who who do NOT work with CBA member organisations are £250 (from developing countries) and £500 (from developed countries).

Meet the winners of the 2009 Inquirer Awards.

The super-talented journalists visited Britain for a week as part of their prize package, meeting leading figures from the world of journalism and politics.

The Inquirer Award recognises the work of investigative reporters in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Iraq.  The award, focusing on outstanding work in print, television and photojournalism, is managed by the Thomson Foundation with funding from the UK Foreign Office.
