As the Balkans moved towards democracy, the objectives of this multi-layered, 12-month project were to improve the performance of the state broadcaster and to introduce common standards of practice, in order to achieve fair, balanced and ethical reporting.
Undertaken in a highly challenging political and cultural environment the principal achievements included: - The establishment of news feeds for centralised information - Higher quality television production - Better teamwork and integration between language services - On-the-job training for journalists - The introduction of higher quality educational programming
