Support for Middle East governance

This bridge-building programme between journalists, NGOs and local governments across four countries took place over three years. A total of 637 professionals were trained in a range of communication skills and took part in seminars aimed at developing better working relationships between all parties involved.

For journalists the training wasÊmainly related to reporting. For NGOs, the training consisted of advocacy, campaigning and marketing, conceptual design and website development. For local governments the training was intended to develop relationships with citizens through media and communication strategies.

A total of 42 training workshops were held during the project and two training manuals in NGO advocacy produced.

The project was led by a team of Thomson Foundation consultants supported by local experts.
