Berna Namata

Berna is our Africa specialist where her main role is in the business development and promotion of our e-learning platform, Journalism Now. This includes creating customised courses and original content for our knowledge sharing platform.

Berna worked as a bureau chief in Rwanda for the Nation Media Group’s regional weekly newspaper, The East African. The Nation group, based in Kenya is East and Central Africa’s biggest private media house.  

She has been a communications consultant for a number of organisations including the African Development Bank.  

She holds an MA in International Communication from the Communication University of China, a BA in Social Sciences from Makerere University in Uganda.

She recently completed her masters in media and communications at City, University of London.  

She is based in Kigali, Rwanda
