Catherine Farmer

Cathy Farmer is the interim communications manager for the Thomson Foundation. She manages content for the website, social media and newsletters.

Cathy was a BBC World Affairs producer working alongside some of the most senior international correspondents around the world and in newsrooms over two decades.

She went on to manage challenging projects and operations for several charities with journalism at their core. Cathy managed the John Schofield Trust, pioneering its programme to encourage greater socio-economic diversity in newsrooms. She also oversaw the freelance assistance programme for the Rory Peck Trust.

She has worked in a consultancy capacity with researchers specialising in conflict-based research and assisted academics to explain the impact of their research for the UK’s Research Excellence Framework.
