Thomson Foundation was one of the first Western organisations to work in Serbia after the war with NATO – brought in to instill a culture of objective reporting and address the lack of public trust in the state broadcasting service, Radio Television Serbia (RTS). The foundation's experts helped to change broadcasting values, inculcating objective news reporting into journalists who previously only reiterated official government statements.
