Zoya Charles

Zoya is a senior media and communications consultant with more than 35 years of experience spanning BBC senior editorial roles, global video innovation and major EU-funded training and consultancy projects. 

She specialises in multiplatform storytelling, newsroom management and mentoring in challenging environments globally. 

Her time at the BBC included leading an innovative video journalism team, which won several awards for its output. She also helped to develop the BBC's digital strategy.

Prior to that, she was a newsgathering and website editor at one of the BBC’s language services and a senior field producer working for BBC News.
