After the cameras have gone: protecting children’s rights in disasters

Children played a major role in this project designed to create an awareness of youngsters’ vulnerability to being exploited by the media in reporting stories about disasters. Young people, often used by the media to increase interest in a news story, joined group discussions with journalists. The aim was to ensure that reporters can do their job at the same time as respecting children’s rights.
