Managing Director – Development
David Quin is managing director of Thomson Media and in charge of sourcing and managing all donor-funded projects. He builds strategic partnerships with funding organisations and media companies to help us achieve our goals.
Development Manager
Christine Liehr is our development manager. She has a specific focus on donor relations within the EU. Her previous experience includes large scale development programme management in the Middle East focusing on business development.
Group Operations Manager
Federica Varalda is group operations manager, responsible for the planning, development and optimisation of policies and procedures across the Thomson Group. She previously managed the EU-funded OPEN Media Hub project.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator
Maja Vasic-Nikolic is local coordinator for the Western Balkans region, with over a decade of experience managing projects focused on advancing journalists’ impact in the field of media freedoms and safety of journalists.
Christoph Lanz is a journalist and strategic adviser in media development for national and international clients and is Deutsche Welle's former managing director of multimedia. He is Thomson Media's head of the board.
Dorothee Wenner is a freelance filmmaker, writer and curator based in Berlin. Her work in the various fields focuses on aspects of transcultural relations, especially between Europe and African countries/South Asia.
Sonja Schwetje is editor-in-chief of ntv/ntv.de and RTL NEWS. She represents Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland on the board of the German Media Association (VAUNET) and will be representative on the board of ENEX (European News Exchange) when she becomes chairwoman of the body.
Dr. Christoph von Marschall is chief diplomatic correspondent of “Der Tagesspiegel” (Berlin), a frequent guest on German TV shows and radio commentator. He studied East European History and served 2005 to 2013 as US correspondent.
