Federica Varalda

Federica is responsible for the planning, development and optimisation of policies and procedures across the Thomson Group. She is also overseeing the management of a portfolio of development projects.

She previously managed the EU-funded OPEN Media Hub programme (2015-2021) which trained and supported media professionals in 17 countries bordering the European Union to the South and East.

She joined the foundation after working in the development sector for Non-Governmental Organisations and with EU institutions.

Federica holds an MA in Conference Interpreting from the University of Geneva, an MA in International Cooperation and Development (Sciences Po Bordeaux) and an MA in International Science and Human Rights from the Università degli Studi di Torino.

She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian, currently learning German and Russian.
