Chris is an independent and expert media consultant with over 30 years' experience in the industry. He advises a number of national and international broadcasters and regulators, as well as tech companies on regulation, complaint handling, media strategies and communications policy.

As Ofcom’s founding director of standards and executive member of the content board — a high-profile position — he led all the regulator’s editorial and advertising standards work across linear and non-linear content.

He is highly experienced in strategic, editorial and consumer protection issues affecting the media, as well as public policy around the future of content regulation. Previously Channel 4 News’ senior political producer and programme maker, Chris also has high-level broadcasting experience. He is an independent member of the Sky News Board; Channel 4’s independent complaints reviewer; and advises the BBC and BBC Board on a number of issues.
