Karen Rice

Karen is a former investigative journalist and senior editorial leader with national news organisations in the UK including the Sunday Times, Guardian Media and Press Association. She was also deputy foreign news editor at Sky News. 

She is an experienced media trainer and capacity building consultant globally and as a fluent Spanish speaker she has worked on Thomson projects in Latin America. She is also the founder of the Critical Thinking Lab for the Age of AI, designing and delivering programmes to promote critical thinking, media literacy and information integrity.

Her podcast Stolen Goodbyes which documented the human cost of the Covid-19 pandemic won Gold at the British Podcast Awards in 2021 for Best Lockdown Podcast. It has since been archived in the British Library as a public memory of the pandemic.
